The Aran Islands - Co. Galway

The Aran Islands consist of 3 islands. The Islands are famous for their knitwear. Here you can see the traditional stonewalls which seperates the land they own.

Stairway to Heaven - Co. Kerry

So named because the stairs in this picture were built 1600 years ago by early Christian monks who lived on the craggy cliffs of this island called Skellig Michael. Little Skellig is seen in the background and the white on its peaks isn't snow - they're BIRDS - as this is a seabird sanctuary.

Lough Corrib - Co. Galway

Whether you visualize Ireland simply as a place on a map or a place in the heart, it will always look like this photograph. A thatched roof cottage situated along the shores of beautiful Lough Corrib with the hills of Joyce Country in the distance, this is the Real Ireland!

Beara Hillside - Co. Kerry

I love the timeless quality of this particular shot. Judging by the amount of vegetation growing on the stone walls, these fields must be very old.  Halfway up the hill we see the old house in ruin and the newer dwelling about to be shrouded in the approaching mist. The Sheep are not impressed.

Grafton Street - Dublin

Ancient Vikings were the first developers, in the ninth century, of what is now the city of Dublin. Today the city of over a million inhabitants is unique in that one day in its life inspired the greatest novel in the English Language, James Joyce ULYSSES. Three winners of the Nobel Prize for Literature also came from Dublin. the poet W.B. Yeats, George Bernard Shaw and Samuel Beckett.

Kilkea Castle - Co. Kildare

Here is one of Ireland's many lovely castles. This one is Kilkea Castle.

Newgrange - Co. Meath

This is one of the most important passage graves in Europe. It is built around 3200 BC. The tomb is lightened up by the sun the 21 Dec., this makes Newgrange the oldest solar observatory in the world!

Cliffs of Moher - Co. Clare

The Cliffs of Moher are a breathtaking sight rising to a height of 200m out of the sea and goes on for 8 km. A lot of seabirds nest on these cliffs.

The Burren - Co. Clare

If you can't go to the moon then try out Ireland's famous Burren. Literally hundreds of square miles of limestone plain. Stark and desolate, singularly beautiful, there is no other place in Ireland, except the Burren's geologic siblings, the Arans, that looks just like this. Must be seen to be believed.

The Ring of Kerry - Co. Kerry

The "Ring of Kerry" is a scenic 100 mile drive around the Inveraugh Peninsula in southwestern Ireland. This bridge and stream situated near Muckross is one of the little beauties that you must watch for amongst the more dramatic scenes you will encounter on your trek.
